Are you readying your manuscript to query agents? Are you preparing for this year’s RevPit event? What better way to know if your query and first 5 pages have what it takes to stand out in the slush pile than to get an editor’s eye on it? As editors, we offer a professional perspective with insight into ways to improve your work.
We are hosting a #10Queries event, October 13th - October 27th. The link to details is at the end of this email.
But first, our big announcement:
#RevPit #10Queries is moving to Reddit!
With the instability of X/Twitter, RevPit has created a subreddit, and editors’ 10Queries posts for the October event will be posted in the new subreddit and not on Twitter.
Why Reddit?
There's already a thriving writing community on Reddit, and the platform allows us to have more control over creating a space that aligns with RevPit's focus on learning and growth in a constructive, inclusive environment.
In addition to official RevPit events like 10Queries and the Annual Contest (which is scheduled for next March), we hope to foster a positive online writing community. So, we have designated tags for all the things you've come to expect from RevPit:
questions about RevPit and our events
general writing/publishing discussion
writing-related games
and authors seeking writing advice, critique partners, and positivity passes. (Please note that RevPit editors will not be critiquing pages or queries outside of the official event, but we do want to provide the space for the authors of our community to connect.)
We hope to see you at r/RevPit. We acknowledge this will be a bit of a learning curve for our community. But a lot of our editors are also new to this platform, so we'll be learning together.
